Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to bring a beautiful landscape photo to life on canvas. Discover the techniques and tools needed to capture the essence of a scenic view through paint. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced painter, this workshop will provide you with the skills and inspiration to create your own stunning landscape masterpiece. Come immerse yourself in the world of landscape painting and unleash your creativity in a supportive and encouraging environment. The class will meet at our studio from 10 am – 4 pm ET each day.

Full workshop price is $450, and a $150 deposit is required to save your easel. The balance will be due on the first day of the workshop.

Materials

Oil Colours

  • Titanium White
  • Lead (Cremnitz) White (optional)
  • Cad Yellow Med
  • Yellow Ochre Light or Pale
  • Cad Red Med
  • Alizarin Crimson
  • Raw Umber or Burnt Umber
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Viridian Green
  • Ivory Black or Lamp Black
Note: Purchase only Artist Grade paints. Do not use Winton or water soluble paints.

Solvent

  • Odorless mineral spirits (GamSol)
Note: Turpentine is NOT permitted in the studio.

Canvas

  • 2-3 Primed acrylic panel or canvas, 11"x14" (panel preferred). Ampersand or Raymar are suggested brands.

Tools

  • Palette (Select one of the following): Glass, wood or paper (Grey Matters)
  • Palette knive
  • Medium cup (small cups with lids for holding medium or mineral spirits)
  • 2 Small jars for cleaning brushes
  • Rags or paper towels or shop towels
  • Knitting needle

Brushes (either natural or synthetic hair)

Note: No flats or round brushes needed; these are the minimum brush requirements – please feel free to bring more.
  • 2-3 Bristle hair filbert brushes – ranging in size from #2 to #8
  • 10-20 Soft hair filbert brushes – ranging in size from #o to #12
Note: numbering differs from brand to brand, we just ask for a range of large, medium and small brushes.
