Are you struggling to see colours accurately or end up with muddy mixes on your palette? Join our intensive 2-day workshop, designed as an engaging introduction to the complexities of colour mixing.
Dive into practical colour mixing exercises by creating a series of simple studies. Students will learn an effective and efficient method to mix nearly any colour. The workshop begins with participants blocking in large, basic shapes from their reference materials, followed by mixing the predominant colour. By applying colours in tile-like strokes, they will start to see and think in terms of abstract shapes and colours, enabling the creation of clear and concise colour studies.
Throughout the workshop, students will learn key fundamentals of colour: hue, chroma, and value. They’ll also practice simplifying complex images into their basic shapes and colours.
This workshop is ideal for beginners. By the end, you’ll leave with an improved ability to accurately match dominant colours from any reference image. This will lay a strong foundation for any future artistic endeavours.
The class will meet at our studio from 10 am – 4 pm ET each day.
Full workshop price is $375, and a $150 deposit is required to save your easel. The balance will be due on the first day of the workshop.
