Students will learn skills in drawing and painting that can be applied to their own projects. In this workshop students will discover how to transform everyday objects into a painterly composition while strengthening their understanding of composition, lighting, and colour relationships. Through the use of contrasting values, hard and soft edges, and confident brushwork, they will learn how to build convincing form, depth, and atmosphere.
This 2-day workshop focuses on creating colour studies from the live model. Working with a limited palette, participants will learn how to observe and mix accurate colour relationships while paying close attention to light, shadow, hue, and tonal shifts.
Join artist Robyn Asquini for a three-day workshop on French Impressionist painting techniques. Learn how Monet, Morisot, Degas, and Cassatt used loose brushwork, bold color contrasts, and expressive mark-making to capture light, movement, and atmosphere.
In this workshop, participants will work from different live models each day to master the art of Alla Prima portrait painting. Using this direct painting method, students will be guided step-by-step through the process of creating a finished Alla Prima portrait.
